Oracle AI World: Spotlight on Tech
Exploring Oracle’s latest AI innovations: key highlights from the tech sessions

As a new member of the Inoapps team, stepping into Oracle AI World felt like opening the door to a new universe of possibilities. With a background in AI and data, I was eager to see how Oracle is pushing boundaries in enterprise innovation, and the event didn’t disappoint. From hands-on labs to deep-dive tech sessions, the experience was packed with practical insights and forward-thinking ideas. It wasn’t just about the tech, it was about seeing how AI is being woven into real business solutions.
In this blog, I’ll share some of the standout moments from the sessions I attended, with a spotlight on Oracle’s latest AI innovations—and without getting too technical!
Oracle Vector AI Search: unlocking smarter data discovery
The technical workshop on Oracle Vector AI Search dove into how Oracle is using vector embeddings to revolutionize search. In simple terms, vector embeddings are a way for computers to understand the meaning and context of data—whether that’s text, images, or other formats.
Oracle’s solution enables searching across both structured (organized tables) and unstructured (documents, images) data. Two main search methods were discussed:
- Exhaustive Search: This checks every possible match, ensuring the most accurate results.
- Similarity Search: This approach finds items that are ‘close enough’ in meaning, making searches faster and more flexible.
These capabilities make it easier for businesses to find relevant information, even when it’s buried in large and complex datasets.
Oracle AI Agent Studio: automating business processes with AI Agents
Oracle AI Agent Studio lets you create customizable AI agents that automate tasks across Oracle Fusion Apps—including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Customer Experience (CX). The best part? If you’re already using Fusion Apps, deploying Oracle-built agents comes at no extra cost.
A standout feature in the latest release (Oracle AI Database 26ai) is the potential to provide URL links for documents—streamlining workflows by removing the need for manual uploads. This makes it even easier for you to integrate AI into your daily operations.
Mood-based movie recommendation: creative AI in action
In a hands-on lab, we built a chat application that recommends movies based on the user’s mood. Using Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle APEX, and OCI Generative AI, we explored models like Cohere and LLAMA to compare recommendations.
The application’s recommendation engine is exposed as a RESTful API, making it easy to connect with other apps. This project serves as a template for businesses looking to build creative, AI-powered applications that deliver engaging user experiences.
Fine tuning Large Language Models (LLMs): making AI work for your business
This session focused on how Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) supports efficient fine tuning and training of large language models. When you need a model to learn specific concepts, training is often better than relying solely on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
Fine tuning LLMs can be resource intensive, but Oracle’s AI Quick Actions offer a no-code solution, making it accessible for businesses without deep technical expertise. Oracle also provides robust computing resources in partnership with Nvidia and is collaborating with Google to deploy advanced models like Gemma and Gemini 2.5.
The session also highlighted small language models (SLMs), which deliver powerful AI capabilities in a more cost-effective way. Choosing the right model for your use case is key to helping you maximize the benefits of AI.
Final thoughts
Oracle’s latest updates show a strong commitment to making AI practical, scalable, and accessible for enterprises. Whether it’s smarter search, automated workflows, creative applications, or tailored language models, these innovations are shaping the future of business technology.
The trickiest part right now is knowing where to start. The Oracle AI experts at Inoapps are here to help you assess how AI can fit into your business roadmap and partner with you on your journey.
