Deterministic AI assistant for JD Edwards opens to early adopters at INFOCUS 2026
Denver, September 21, 2026 Inoapps today introduced iAsk for JDE, a deterministic AI assistant connected directly to JD Edwards through a private, encrypted connection. It runs in a dedicated, secure OCI compartment built for each customer, and it gives users instant, accurate answers grounded entirely in their own JDE data, with full traceability back to the source.
Alongside the announcement, Inoapps opened an Early Adopter Program inviting a small group of JD Edwards community companies to help validate and shape iAsk ahead of general availability.
What this means for JDE users
- Answers, not searches. Ask a question in plain language and get a direct answer reasoned from live JDE data, instead of running a report or digging through screens.
- The same question, the same answer, every time. No drift, no guessing. If the data supports an answer, iAsk gives it. If it doesn't, iAsk says so.
- It can act, not just answer. Triggered by an event or a data condition, iAsk can investigate and recommend, or carry out, the next step, within guardrails the customer sets.
- Every answer is traceable. iAsk shows exactly which data it used and the reasoning path it took, so the answer can be checked, not just trusted on faith.
- Built around the customer's environment. Deployed in a dedicated OCI compartment, hosted in the customer's sovereign region of choice, with no traffic leaving that private connection.
The difference between deterministic and generative AI
Generative AI writes new content by predicting what's likely to come next, which can produce results that sound right without being right. iAsk works differently: its reasoning runs on rules, not probability. A language model is used only at the final step to phrase the answer in plain English. It doesn't do the reasoning, so the same question against the same data always returns the same, verifiable answer.
This matters because generative AI is built to sound convincing, whether or not it's correct. Deterministic AI is built to be correct, and to prove it. iAsk isn't guessing at a plausible-sounding answer: it's reasoning through the customer's data and showing its work. Reliable, yes. Boring, never.

What's next
