Adopting a cloud-first strategy with Oracle Cloud HCM and ERP
Adopting a cloud-first strategy with Oracle Cloud HCM and ERP
We’ve been using Oracle for over 15 years and it is a natural progression to move to the Cloud. Digitisation is helping us to deliver a superior service to clients and other stakeholders, whilst meeting the challenge of reducing our IT footprint. We see Inoapps as a trusted partner with whom we can work closely to achieve these and other future goals.
Customer profile
The Scottish Legal Aid Board is an executive non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government.
SLAB’s existing system landscape was complex, with two separate ERP environments. It was running finance and procurement Oracle E-Business Suite on-premises and used a shared service Oracle E-Business Suite with another public body for HR and payroll. With a complex upgrade to Fusion imminent, SLAB had to roadmap for future use, taking into account the existing environments and internal skills sets, as well as the business needs.
SLAB had to decide between moving everything to the Oracle E-Business Suite managed service, or consolidating their systems on Oracle Cloud. As an existing Oracle E-Business Suite user for 18 years, SLAB were aware of the capabilities of Oracle Cloud applications.
They elected to implement Oracle HCM Cloud and Oracle ERP Cloud, which would provide a modern and scalable platform, fit for the future.
Inoapps has implemented finance, i-expenses and procurement in the Cloud, including sourcing and invoice scanning – and will follow shortly with Oracle HCM and Payroll Cloud.
By consolidating business processes onto one system SLAB will achieve greater visibility of its activities across the organization. This, combined with the improved reporting capabilities available in Oracle Cloud, should lead to improved insight and decision-making. The organization will also benefit from having more empowered and engaged users, streamlined procurement processes and will continue to have automated HR procedures including transparency around absence management.
The implementation started in June 2017, with an initial launch for Finance in the Cloud in December 2017, followed by HR and Payroll being live in July 2018. In a double first, SLAB will not only be the first Scottish Government organization to transition to Oracle Cloud but will also be the first UK Public Sector organization to adopt Oracle Cloud for Payroll. This is another pioneering step for Inoapps and its customers.
