Why Cloud Deployment Makes Sense
Phil Wilson, VP Business Development and Alliances, Inoapps
The significant advantages of cloud software are increasingly clear to many midsize and larger, global companies. Indeed, leading European Oracle Platinum Partner, Inoapps, was so impressed that it deployed Oracle Financials Cloud itself, gaining a unique insight as both a user and a consultant.
Today, CxOs have the daunting task of selecting the right IT to support business growth whilst seeking to reduce back-office costs. Naturally, cloud computing now plays a significant role in re-balancing a company’s technology investment, as it enables management to fundamentally alter how their organisation utilises and accesses the technology they need.
Most importantly, the cloud model is enabling organisations to release and redeploy significant budgetary expenditure to other business critical areas such as product development, mobile working or creating customer-facing growth opportunities. Gone are the days where businesses had to fund teams of IT staff reviewing, configuring, testing, deploying and upgrading the myriad pieces of technology that they had bought.
Oracle has led the charge here, recognising how effectively the cloud can simplify IT, and thereby eliminate the limitations of complex and costly back-office infrastructures. As President Mark Hurd said recently; “We think our customers deserve better…the IT industry should assume the cost of, and responsibility for, making products that work together, so that our customers don’t have to do it themselves.” This refreshingly clear vision is well received.
Empowered business leaders recognise that modern SaaS applications are explicitly designed to exploit the latest IT innovations and that Oracle meets the strategic need for a primary cloud provider; one that is capable of delivering streamlined systems across all core business processes.
As moving to the cloud is such a fundamentally different approach, it’s important to find the right implementation partner, one that can fully exploit the technology’s potential. Inoapps has a clear advantage here as not only can we support the whole stack, but we also possess an unrivalled level of experience. This is no idle claim. We were so impressed with the technology, that we became one of Europe’s first Oracle ERP Cloud implementations.
In all, there is a three-phase process. Using our rapid implementation methodology, the core financial modules were up and running in just two months, enhanced financial reporting and analytics in only another 4 weeks and Project Controls a further 8. We were impressed by the system’s usability, functionality, the unequalled levels of integration and also its world-class security.
Once deployed, a wide range of major benefits became clear. We now have an exceptionally scalable platform, capable of supporting Inoapps’ growth, acquisition strategy and internationalisation.
It has also enabled us to empower mobile working and with the system’s excellent social app support, it significantly improves collaboration. We’re not stopping there though. Looking forward, we’re further expanding the footprint with Oracle EPM Cloud and Oracle HCM Cloud.
So by utilising Oracle Cloud ourselves, we gained real customer insight into the system’s significant deliverables. Consequently, Inoapps can now advocate its merits from both user and consultant perspectives. We aim to pass this unique insight onto other organisations seeking to modernise their IT right across the enterprise.
This isn’t just limited to financials, HR and CRM, it could well be areas such as strategic financial planning, supply chain development or customer services, so any organisations who think we could help them, should contact us.
