The early days: the need for archiving

As more of our customers moved their Oracle applications to SaaS, we realized they had a problem with what to do with their E-Business Suite (EBS) data. They needed to retain it to remain compliant with data retention legislation, and turning off the application outright wasn’t an option due to audit and governance requirements. However, maintaining legacy EBS instances is expensive and resource-intensive, and retrieving that data relies on very specific technical skillsets.

Enter the Inoapps Archiving Solution: APEX-based, fast to implement with extra support for compliance through redaction capabilities, and with security functionality that allows for segregation of what users can access, similar to EBS. All of this, without the additional cost and complexity of keeping an entire EBS platform operational solely for reporting and compliance purposes.

Continuous improvement: empowering users

Inoapps Archiving was a success. It won awards and we received very positive client feedback. Among the feedback, some customers expressed a desire to be more self-sufficient in producing reports on the archived transactions. They didn’t want to rely on an implementation partner to retrieve historical data and create reports for them.

So next came our Report Authoring enhancement. This lets our customers find what they’re looking for, by providing them with a user friendly way to write their own SQL queries against the database.

Transforming our solution for the future

Queue the present day, and our genuinely useful AI use case. Enhanced with AI, Inoapps Archiving now includes a feature that allows users to access archived EBS data using natural language prompts. Want to know “what was my total quarterly spend on Acme Ltd last year?” Or to request “display order item details for order ABC1234.” Or dig deeper to “what items have we spent most on in the 4th quarter of this financial year?”
